6th Street Stroll

I had been planning on posting this all week however I'm starting a new show at the theatre and the days have been long ones. So to my surprise this morning I read over at blogging.la this post and thought to myself..."girl, you better start typing..."

As most of you may know, I took part in the great Wilshire Walk of 2006 which was coordinated by Mike over at Franklin Avenue. I had so much fun that afterwards I kept thinking about what street, boulevard or drive I'd like to walk. Then one day as I was driving home on 6th Street it hit me. My love of 6th Street is well known and I really only prefer to travel it in one direction. West to East. The day of the Wilshire Walk my M.O. was to get to Santa Monica Blvd. and have a drink at Trader Vic's and call it a day. Sadly when we got there it was closed. TRAVESTY! I ended up painfully (true physical pain) making it to Westwood and cutting out. Nathan and I took the bus back into Downtown and had our drink(s) there.

So here's the deal. I don't like to wake up early and I'm gonna have a drink when all is said and done. Join me if you wish on a very special day in my life, February 11th, starting out at noon on 6th Street at San Vicente, we will then proceed East toward Downtown enjoying lots of beautiful residential, a little Koreatown, a little industrial and finally a drink....most likely at The Daily Grill although I'm open to nearby options. The entire route is about 7 miles. And even though the title says stroll I'll be walking at a slightly faster pace. I just used the word stroll for alliteration purposes.

I wish I could Shannon :-(. Unfortunately at 6 mo preggers, I doubt I'd have the energy, not to mention I'd probably be painfully slow. Oh well. Next time. I hope you guys have a crazy fun time though!

how cool!! I would love to be with you on your b-day and do the stroll BUT I am already committed to running an event at the synagogue at the same time that day. I'm already crazy for the Sunset Boulevard walk I'm planning (thanks for the link) the day before yours, but if I'm ambulatory in its aftermath you may just find me totally bonkers enough to join you for yours!
