Bicycles are prevalent in my life right now. From my neighbor who is working with Flying Pigeon to the current show I’m stage managing.
Asleep on a Bicycle, written by fellow Elephant Theatre company member Tony Foster and directed by David Fofi, is a story about a woman who learns about life, death and love while in a dream state. People, images and thoughts from her past and present life intermingle with each other to create a web of illusion that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. And there’s a tree on stage too! See this postcard image:
That tree is actually on stage. The set design alone is stunning, but what really works is the sum of all the parts together; from actors to designers to director, producer and writer. Their vision comes alive on stage at The Lillian Theatre. And I’m just along for the ride.
The show runs at 8pm on Friday and Saturday nights and at 7pm on Sundays. Closing October 12th.
