Bicycles are prevalent in my life right now. From my neighbor who is working with Flying Pigeon to the current show I’m stage managing.
Asleep on a Bicycle, written by fellow Elephant Theatre company member Tony Foster and directed by David Fofi, is a story about a woman who learns about life, death and love while in a dream state. People, images and thoughts from her past and present life intermingle with each other to create a web of illusion that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. And there’s a tree on stage too! That tree is actually on stage. The set design alone is stunning, but what really works is the sum of all the parts together; from actors to designers to director, producer and writer. Their vision comes alive on stage at The Lillian Theatre. And I’m just along for the ride.
